Artist's Description

In 2003, Katie Melua recorded a song called "Faraway Voice" about Eva Cassidy. Katie was introduced to her music shortly before being inspired to write the song. The song is about the sadness she felt at learning that Eva Cassidy had died in 1996 at the age of 33. Cassidy came from the Washington D.C. area but gained great popularity AFTER her death in England. A year or so ago, Katie was given the opportunity on British television to perform along with a grainy video of Eva singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

About Bryan Bustard

Bryan Bustard

I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities. For a number of my original pieces, feel free to purchase some more modestly priced ones at my Etsy page. I may be adding more as time goes on. https://www.etsy.com/shop/bryanbartist?ref=hdr_shop_menu More than willing to do commissions, I am adept at portraiture of...
