Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, affectionately known still as "Padre Pio" was a remarkable saint, and one who had in his body the marks of the stigmata. During his lifetime he was known to be of such holy nature that he could be seen levitating and there have been numerous examples of him bilocating and being in two places at one time. He is widely known as well to have been able to read people's souls and people stood in huge lines to have him hear their confessions. On numerous occasions, he knew that the penitent did not intend to give a good confession and he literally chased them out of the confessional, telling them to come back when they were ready to make a good confession. Padre Pio is one of the "incorruptibles". That is, after his death, he was not embalmed, yet his body to this day has shown no signs of decay. I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities.
