Interesting commission. A client had the canvas which was preprinted art, a somewhat abstract seascape, and she really wanted something with the same general color, but more detail. She ordered more art, preprinted, from another company, but it wasn't the right size. She returned that artwork, but had a printed out photo of the original piece and wanted me to turn a rectangular painting into a square and cover up over the original art. Here's what I came up with.

I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities.
