Artist's Description
This and my Girl of Steel 1972 paintings are admittedly highly derivative of the work of other artists. The original linework is based almost entirely upon the work of Carmine Infantino and Neal Adams, comic book legends. This is just a glitch in my artistic direction. It is a long held tradition of artists to start off copying master works to learn how they did it and I just needed something fresh and fun to do.
The paint is all mine of course, as is the new composition. The characters Man-Bat and Scarecrow never appeared together as far as I know. I just have desired a Batman movie, done like a horror film with all the scares of a horror film, in which Scarecrow and Man-Bat played a huge part.

I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities.
