Artist's Description
Michele is one of my dearest friends and we had been out of touch for years until we made a connection again on the internet. She always loved animals and dreamed of her own menagerie and now has her own home filled with cats, dogs, horses, goats, chickens and other living creatures. As a gift to her in honor of our long distance reunion, I did a painting of her and her late canine friend, Elvis. I have been wanting to improve in my ability to paint animals and when she said she'd love a whole wall full of artwork of her and her pets, I have slowly started to make her wish come true. Besides, she emails my work all over the world for me and she is incredibly beautiful to paint!
About Bryan Bustard
I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities.
