Another photo chosen not because of the star's popularity with me, but just because it was a great photo in TV Guide. Cami (Camille) Cooper is probably best known for one of Wes Craven's lesser efforts. A movie called Shocker. She has also done work in the soaps. I liked the possibilities this photo presented in using the white of the board and a bit of line to create a portrait. In particular, her entire jacket, except for the folds, IS the illustration board with no paint covering.
I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities.
