Artist's Description
This painting is a commission done for a couple married on August 21, 2017. Both are "geeks" and the bride is obsessed with this character from the DC Comics Batman books and Batman: The Animated Series. Initially it was only supposed to be a fleshed out version of the character as portrayed in the animated series (depicted in the playing card) but after researching images of Harley Quinn (the Joker's girlfriend), I decided to go with a more "realistic" image. About Bryan Bustard
I consider myself primarily an illustrator. I never quite fit in with others, so I grew up isolated and found much of my comfort in movies, comic books, music, and books. My artistic influences include fantasy illustrators from the "Brandywine" school of Howard Pyle to the best comic book artists of today. I get my inspiration from such widely diverse sources as the absurd, music, classic movies, myth, pin-up, fantasy literature, and my Catholic sensibilities. For a number of my original pieces, feel free to purchase some more modestly priced ones at my Etsy page. I may be adding more as time goes on. https://www.etsy.com/shop/bryanbartist?ref=hdr_shop_menu More than willing to do commissions, I am adept at portraiture of...
