Description

I began this painting at least 4 years prior to finishing it with much of the background and the colors of the dragon already laid down. However, I had photographed a clothed model for the piece and was never quite satisfied with the proportions of the model as drawn on paper, once I had turned the image to a nude image. I had at last decided that I'd love a model in Ohio to pose for me, but she would have to provide the photo reference by email and the opportunity never came up to get the exact pose I wanted. At last, with her permission, she had some other nude images made for her portfolio that I pieced together to get the pose I needed.
I envisioned a lovely Asian mode (in actuality my model is of German/Jewish descent but fits the bill nicely) high up on the Himalaya mountains who desired to "come clean". The warmth coming from a friendly dragon and the hot breast of the friendly beast allowed for a warm enough climate, even among the ice and snow, even providing heated rain to fall upon our lovely model.
